Welcome to the South Portland Amateur Radio Club or SPARC. The purpose of the club is to promote the knowledge of radio science and other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) areas among the youth in our communities through organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America. We also promote the exchange of information and cooperation between members, the sharing of radio knowledge and increasing individual operating efficiency. The club also conducts programs and activities to advance the general interest and welfare of amateur radio.
Some of the services the club provides:
- Free FCC license classes
- ARRL & Laurel FCC license examinations
- Free Boy Scout STEM merit badge classes
The club meets on the 4th Thursday of every month (except December) at 7 PM. The club meets at the offices of DCS-Morgan, 1535 SE 3rd Ct., Canby, Oregon, OR 97013. Anyone with an interest in amateur radio is cordially invited to attend our meetings.
License exam sessions are normally held on the 2nd Sunday at 2 PM in the Rose Room of the Wilsonville Public Library.
