Testing team

The Testing Team is comprised of experienced Volunteer Examiners that are certified by the Laurel VEC. The mission of the Testing Team is to provide free FCC license examinations to the members of our communities. We strive to promote Amateur Radio and other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities within youth groups such as the Boy Scouts.

Be sure to check the events calendar to find a scheduled exam. You can reserve a seat my signing up on EventBrite. Seating for each exam may be limited due to space and time constraints.

Please get your FCC Federal Registration Number (FRN) before showing up to the exam session. Visit the FCC Registration System to register for your FRN. Using an FRN insures that the information submitted to the FCC with your exam results are correct and also protects your privacy as you will not have to show your Social Security number to the examiners. Go to the Downloads section and get a copy of "What to bring to an exam session."

If you belong to a group and are interested in hosting a free FCC license examination, please contact us at testing@southportland-arc.com and we can discuss the possibility of scheduling a session.
